Project Objectives

The tram line is planned to strengthen public transport access to the completed City Hospital and to the public campus now being developed in Samsun. It is intended to increase the share of trips made by public transport, ease congestion by reducing car use and shorten journey times. The work covers a direct, fast, safe and comfortable rail link between the existing tram line and the new health and public facilities, better access between the hospital, public institutions and the surrounding residential areas, and lower carbon emissions through cleaner travel.

Integrating the line into the wider urban transport system also supports Samsun's sustainable transport vision, encourages transit-oriented development and reduces the cost of urban travel over the long term.
