Project Objectives

The rail connection planned for Ege Gübre Sanayi A.Ş., which operates in the district of Aliağa, will link the plant directly to the national rail network. The purpose is to reduce the reliance of freight movements on road haulage, increase the share carried by rail and, in doing so, move the company's logistics onto a safer, more economical and cleaner footing. The scheme covers the handling of every stage of the logistics chain by rail, from raw material supply through to product dispatch, together with stronger port connections, easier access to hinterland regions and a substantial reduction in transport costs.

The efficiency gains serve the project's wider aims as well: sustainable growth in operating capacity, lower road traffic volumes and carbon emissions, greater competitiveness for industry in the region, and wider uptake of combined transport across the country.
