Project Objectives

This study assesses the technical, economic and environmental feasibility of the Bafra–Ünye motorway, setting out whether an investment of this kind can strengthen the region's transport infrastructure and improve its logistics performance. The motorway is expected to reinforce the connection between the Black Sea coastal road and the interior, shorten journey times, improve road safety, take heavy goods traffic away from built-up areas and give impetus to regional development.

The work is supported by analysis of current travel conditions, demand forecasts, route options, cost estimates, economic appraisal and environmental assessment, and sets out the technical and financial case for the investment in detail.
